The Vision
To be a center of excellence for Reformed Biblical Scholarship, devotion and teaching, impacting Africa with the gospel of Christ and a God-Centered world view.
The Seminary stands in the Reformed and Baptist traditions. However, the word of God is our first and final authority.
The Seminary aims, through its faculty, to enrich the church through the highest academic scholarship applied to meaningful research into the Bible and its application to life today.
Devotion to God is not always prominent in academic life. But we are nothing without God's gracious presence and intervention; our lives depend completely on him. Through a life of devotion and prayer we seek his life-giving power in all we do.
The Seminary's focus is on training men for the ministry, especially for local church ministry. We seek not merely to transfer information but to develop the minds, hearts and character of those who are called to shepherd the flock of God.
As the Lord has determined the periods and places for all the nations of the earth (Acts 17:26), so he has placed us in the heart of Africa. We are a ministry of the indigenous Reformed Baptist Churches of Zambia, represented by such pastors as Conrad Mbewe and Ronald Kalifungwa. There is a tremendous openness to the gospel in Africa at the moment, and this continent is the focus of our ministry.
As Paul celebrated the power of the gospel in the Letter to the Romans, so we believe that God saves people through the gospel. But the gospel must not be confined to our "religious" life; it must lead to the renewing of our minds and the offering of our entire being as a living sacrifice (Rom 12:1-2). Hence, we seek to cultivate a biblical world view in all teaching and scholarly efforts. They are directed towards the establishment of God's rule in academics, politics, farming, family and church life.
This is key to the transformation of Africa.
