God has truly prepared the way for ACU in Zambia!
 The morning of meetings between Pastor Conrad Mbewe (Kabwata Baptist Church - left), Pastor Ronald Kalifungwa (Lusaka Baptist Church - center) and Dr. Ken Turnbull (ACU - right), Dr. Turnbull's Scripture reading through the Psalms reached Psalm 20:
"May He grant you your heart's desire and fulfill all your plans! May we shout for joy over your salvation, and in the name of our God set up our banners! May the LORD fulfill all your petitions! (verses 4-5)"
We set up our banners in Zambia with the Reformed Baptist Church and shout for joy across Africa over our salvation knowing that the Lord will fulfill our petitions to His glory.
Zambia is a beautiful country, especially lush and green during the current rainy season. Pastor Kalifungwa's appreciated reminder that man's mandate from God is to subdue the earth is taking root as it was apparent that working nature for man's aesthetic pleasure and establishing order was much more common in Lusaka than most anywhere we've visited in Mozambique.
Joint meetings with the elders of four of Lusaka's Reformed Baptist churches were an answer to more than a year of daily prayers asking God to unite us with godly servants of Jesus who would share a vision for Christ-exalting higher education under a maturing church. Within minutes of initiating our conversation, as the elders began sharing their understanding of how and for what purpose the university and church would jointly function, it was clear that God was developing a united vision amongst us. As the 3 1/2 hour meeting drew to a close with Brother Alfred closing us in honoring God for His clear guidance, we were all aware that God had unified us for a purpose that will surely be beyond any one of us, but united in the Lord's hand will flourish according to His will.
Pastor Mbewe, Pastor Kalifungwa and Dr. Turnbull met for several more hours to lay the foundations for how establishing ACU will move forward in Lusaka, Zambia. We thank the Lord for the wonderfully equipped Body of Christ in Lusaka who will be forming a working team to begin gathering the information, filing the documents and coordinating the steps for development.  Architect Johan Pretorius (center) and builder Mike Stolk (right) of Antipas Reformed Baptist Church in Pretoria, South Africa have volunteered their professional services and are already beginning to think through design aspects for the university campus development. Dr. Turnbull will be focusing attention on sharing ACU's vision for transforming Africa through Christian higher education and developing collaborations with those who can assist us in applying a thoroughly Biblical worldview through Christian epistemology to higher education throughout all disciplines that will be taught. We are trusting the Lord to provide the support and people to bring His purpose through this grand vision to fruition. Thank you for your faithful prayers with us.
